Hi, it’s Yazın.
Welcome to the jungle of
art & design.

a short bio
Born in Istanbul in 1994, Yazın Öztürk (she/her) is a curator and graphic designer working at the intersections of contemporary art, design, and cultural history. She studied Communication and Design with a minor in Graphic Design at Bilkent University, Ankara—where she graduated with departmental honors—and later pursued a master’s degree in Media and Visual Studies. Her academic path also included studies in Barcelona, Spain, following her early education in Toronto, Canada.

Her curatorial practice began in 2017 with research on new ways of encountering art in the digital age. Between 2017–2020, she worked with the Istanbul Biennial (15th and 16th editions), later provided collection consultation for Ferit Meriçten, and coordinated exhibitions of artists such as David Hammons and Michael Asher, organized by Norgunk at Riverrun, Istanbul. In 2020, she contributed as copy editor to Sarkis: In the Beginning, Istanbul 19380–20200 by Cem İleri, and curated Letter to a Friend at Dou Print Studio—the first exhibition of Litho Days in Turkey—bringing together artists across disciplines to experiment with lithography.

Currently, she is an assistant curator at İstanbul Modern (Istanbul Museum of Modern Art), where she contributes to exhibition-making, research, and collection development. Her practice reflects a commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue, sustainable creativity, and cultural narratives that move fluidly between local and global contexts.

*A proud Gemini, she enjoys engaging in visual projects across all media that spark
her curiosity.
*She loves dogs but loves her dog the most.
